Dear friends, we hope this e-mail finds you well.
This week is the start of the last week of posting answers in your learning circle wiki Education in the 21st Century
Today the Soroti students are back on campus... YEEAAHH.
As announced last week Loes Tuininga continues as NL1, Stenden1.
The overview at the end of this e-mail reflects the status as per Friday May 29th; the new postings of today will be included in the June 7th overview.
Research and answers.
Seeing the postings of today, we invite you to use a lot of examples in your answers.
Something that is so obvious and clear for a Soroti student, might cover a completely new situation for a Dutch student.
Examples out of your daily education might bring a valuable context to your answer:
Question from NL2: There are differences and similarities between education on primary schools in the Netherlands and in Africa.
What are those differences and similarities? Please describe what's your opinion about those differences and similarities.
Answer from UG1: Differences
We think there is a lot of differences between education in Uganda and Netherlands, this is because in Uganda we have got boarding section in primary schools,
where pupils stay at school for the rest of term and parents are aloud to visist their children on the date designed by the school adimnistration.
And our opinion about the differences is that learners in boarding sections have got more access of learning at any time whenever they are called for compared to day schools.
Bob > a little more extra information on ‘a boarding section’ might really help us to understand, as we have no primary boarding in The Netherlands …
(so the answer as differences is very correct on its own J)
· How many students do board in a school?
· Where do they eat and sleep?
· As of what age do students board?
· Are the lesson times in a regular school different from a boarding school?
· How long is a term?
· Can you add picture of a boarding section? Thank you very much for doing so!!
TIP: Also it helps to first type your answers in a Word Processor and use the spell checker…. The wiki does not check your spelling!!
